PUTRAJAYA, Feb 16 (Bernama) -- The Court of Appeal here Thursday allowed an application by former Malaysian Airline System Bhd (MAS) executive chairman Tan Sri Tajudin Ramli for a three-month postponement of appeals involving multi-million ringgit civil suits, to facilitate out-of-court settlement negotiations between him and MAS.
Justice Datuk Seri Abu Samah Nordin, chairing a three-member panel, set May 10 for hearing of the appeals in the event, parties in the suit failed to reach a settlement.
The other two Court of Appeal judges on the panel were justices Datuk Syed Ahmad Helmy Syed Ahmad and Datuk Alizatul Khair Osman Khairuddin.
Tajudin's lawyer, Lim Kian Leong, told the panel that he was instructed to request the court to postpone the appeals scheduled for hearing today, to enable negotiations to be carried out between the parties concerned.
There was no objection for the postponement from lawyers representing MAS and other respondents.
